Budget, Goals & Current Projects

Fish Hawk Wing - Central Oregon Dance Showcase 2010 The 2009-2010 season is in full swing and Fish Hawk Wing is simultaneously working on several dance projects and the fundraising needed in order to bring them to fruition. This page is intended to give you an idea of the range of projects we are working on and the approximate costs involved.

Fish Hawk Wing is a 100% volunteer-run organization so all proceeds are spent directly on our mission to make dance more visible and accessible in our Central Oregon community. We cannot do any of the following without your support and we will have to budget and cut back accordingly if our fundraising does not meet the needed amounts for each project. Any amount helps!

Look What We've Accomplished!
Thanks to support from our community Fish Hawk Wing has completed the following projects in 2009 - 2010 season:

Participation in the Rettocamme Web Project: a global choreography & video project
- Amount Needed: minimal
- This is an ongoing project which we can submit a video of our interpretation of the Rettocamme choreography instructions.
- Our videos are online at YouTube
- Thank you to Mandala Yoga Studio in Bend, Oregon and the Vasudeva musicians for their support!

Participation in the Central Oregon Dance Showcase, February 13, 2010
- Amount Raised: $250
- For: costumes

Dance Improv Performance at Dudley's Bookshop Cafe, Downtown Bend First Friday, March 5, 2010
- Amount Raised: minimal
- For: props, sound equipment

What We're Still Hoping To Do
The season isn't over yet and we could still use help with the following projects to make dance more visible and accessible in our community:

Providing flexible, drop-in dance improv workshops for adults every month
- Amount Needed: $850/season
- Includes: liability insurance, music licensing, studio rental
- In progress. Participants are encouraged to make donations to help offset the cost of running the workshops; however we need people to come to the workshops and we need donations to help keep the cost down.

Dance Video Shoot: "Tear Drop"
- Approx Amount Needed: $500
- Includes: sound & lighting equipment, on-location fees, costumes, publicity
- Donations of new or gently used sound/lighting equipment welcome. Contact us for details.
- Tentative Date: "First Friday," June 4, 2010
- Location: "Tin Pan Alley", Bend, OR
- We hope to have several video shoots during the summer of 2010 and produce an original multi-media dance show with them at some point in the next 2 - 3 years.

Dance Video Shoot: "River Flows In You" / The Meadow
- Approx Amount Needed: $0
- Includes: costumes
- Donations of new or gently used sound/lighting equipment welcome. Contact us for details.
- Tentative Date: July 2010
- Location: Sawyer Park, Bend, OR
- We hope to have several video shoots during the summer of 2010 and produce an original multi-media dance show with them at some point in the next 2 - 3 years.

Original Dance Videography
- Amount Needed: $500 - $2,500
- Includes: sound & video recording equipment, studio/theater rental, on-location fees, costumes, publicity
- Donations of new or gently used sound/lighting equipment welcome. Contact us for details.
- We hope to have several video shoots during the summer of 2010 and produce an original multi-media dance show with them at some point in the next 2 - 3 years.
