Adult Modern Dance Classes

Fish Hawk Wing | Modern Dance is pleased to announce that its Director, Bonnie Walker, will be teaching a modern dance class for teenagers and adults at the Terpsichorean Dance Studio. The class is designed to accomodate dancers at any level.

Modern Dance is a user-friendly dance form that was originally devised in oppostion to the rigidity and aristocracy of ballet. Over the past century, Modern Dance has grown to incorporate its own technique as well as movement styles from ethnic dance of every origin.

$45/month or $15 per class drop-in (please see Terpsichorean Dance Studio's website for tuition rates & policies)

Classes will be taught by Fish Hawk Wing Director, Bonnie Walker at the Terpsichorean Dance Studio. Course content will include warm up, modern dance technique, choreography, dance improvisation, and final stretch with meditation/relaxation. As student interest and time permit, we will incorporate dance history, live music, "lyrical hip hop," and the use of multi-media art forms into our Modern Dance repertoire. Course includes optional performance opportunities at Terpsichorean "Footlight" performances, The Central Oregon Dance Showcase, the Terpsichorean annual recital, and any Fish Hawk Wing arranged performances. We need a minimum of 5 students in order to hold the class.
